An engineer, a mathematician and an architect graduate were given the task of finding the height of a church steeple (the first to get the correct solution wins a R1000). The engineer tried to remember things about differential pressures, but resorted to climbing the steeple

and lowering a string on a plumb bob until it touched the ground and then climbed down and measured the length of the string.

The Mathematician laid out a reference line, measured the angle to the top of the steeple from both ends and worked out the height

by trigonometry. However, the architect won the prize. He bought the vicar a beer in the local pub and he told him how high the church steeple was

Three freshman engineering students were sitting around talking between classes, when one brought up the question of who designed the human body. One of the students insisted that the human body must have been designed by an electrical engineer because of the perfection of the nerves and synapses.

 

Another disagreed, and exclaimed that it had to have been a mechanical engineer who designed the human body. The system of levers and pulleys is ingenious.

"No," the third student said "you’re both wrong. The human body was designed by a sewage engineer. Who else but an sewage engineer would have put a toxic waste line through a recreation area?"

All our reaction and guarding personnel are hand selected by us, which includes thorough criminal checks through electronic fingerprint clearances on the national criminal database - they are obviously also registered and cleared with P.S.I.R.A (The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority). RSS only employs guards with Grade D or higher qualifications and continuous on-site training and regular inspections are done by our Management to ensure the highest possible standard of service delivery. We provide all our reaction and guarding personnel with full uniforms and proper communication equipment linked to our central 24-hour Control Room - torches, batons, pepper-spray and handcuffs are also standard issue for all our guards.

 

As mentioned our RAID Unit is on stand-by 24 hours a day to respond and attend to any high risk emergencies where their expertise are required.  The head of our RAID Unit, Shane Theunissen personally selects the operatives, and handles all the specialized training at the SAPS/SWAT Training Facility located in Centurion. RAID reports are available on a continuous basis to our clients and community leaders to demonstrate the “value added” work being done in our operating areas.

 

We also provide RSS Guardian Medical, a rapid medical response unit, which includes Advanced Life Support (ALS) capabilities. This service is available to all RSS clients. The service can also be provided on a more “dedicated” basis should a client require this - should you want more information on this please let me know and I will arrange for someone to contact you in this regard.

 

We also have a close working relationship with Heli-Vac and through our ALS operatives we will be able to arrange helicopter evacuations for any RSS client who requires such a service
